HORROR CLASSICS: THE GORILLA/NABONGA - DVD

THE GORILLA (1939) Bela Lugosi and Lionel Atwill are the heavies with comedy relief provided by the Ritz Brothers (a poor man's Stooges/ Marx Brothers). A slick production with effective stormy night scenes in a spooky mansion. Hidden panels, shadows and mystery.

NABONGA (1944) An adventurer (Buster Crabbe), a jungle woman (Fifi D'Orsay) and her pet 500 pound Gorilla (Ray "Crash" Corrigan). That about sums it all up. The female "Tarzan-type" was standed in the jugle as a little girl. Her father waas a murderer and jewel thief. He died and she groes up with the Gorillas...and a cool millionin stolen jewels that she thinks are just pretty rocks. Crabbe is the investigator risking his life. One hysterical scene has an off camera gorilla reach in, grab Buster Crabbe and rip him right out of the scene. Low budget PRC jungle program thriller.
