The sickly survivor has a bizarre growth on him that begins looking like a "blob-cactus." It's slowly engulfing him and an alien intelligence takes him over. It's a wild manhunt as the altered astronaut is on the run, feeding on animals and humans. An eye-popping climax at Westminster Abbey. A landmark in classic British sci-fi.
