DOUBLE DOOR appears to be a simple social melodrama....but veers into much darker territories and weirdness in a pre-code Hollywood. A domineering woman controls a household with pathological evil. Before the film concludes we find an underbelly of psychological issues that lead to violence, a hidden room and all out homicidal madness. Tense with a knock-out finale!
