An ancient curse is somehow tied to a wealthy man's estate. After the disappearance of a young woman, a man traces it to the estate. Barbara Steele does her witch bit in green make-up, Chris Lee is great and Karloff is terrific as one grumpy old man. Mystery on top of mystery with an undercurrent of the supernatural ever present. Karloff's last good supernatural film!
