She falls into inherited wealth and hadn't planned on becoming involved in deceit, murder and mystery in a towering Victorian Mansion.
Incredibly well-filmed with the marks of a great Hitchcock film, not directed by Hitchcock. I found out why it was so excellent when I saw the director's name - Robert Wise (THE BODY SNATCHER, THE HAUNTING, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, THE SOUND OF MUSIC).
