FRIDAY June 20, 2025

DEALER & GUEST OF HONOR SIGNING HOURS 3 PM - 9 PM

MOVIE & EVENT ROOM HOURS 9:00 AM - 2:30 AM

9:00 AM - 16mm FILM: MONSTERS WE'VE KNOWN AND LOVED. It's our traditional opening short film. A documentary produced back in 1964. A look at the classics from the early days through the eyes of 1964. Narrated by Joseph Cotten. Introduced with a welcome to the Monster Bash by Ron Adams.

10:00 AM - THE VAMPIRE'S GHOST (1945). Vampire oddity set in Africa. A cursed vampire wearing white(!). Some cool "invisibility" effects. Stars John Abbott as the vampire, character actor you may remember as the museum tour guide in CRY OF THE WEREWOLF.  A rarity that is recommended!

11:30 AM - TALK:  THE LIFE & FILMS OF VINCENT PRICE with author and historian  Lucy Chase Williams. Don't dare miss this in-depth look at the life and films of one of our favorite actors -- Vincent Price. Included in this presentation are rare clips, stills, and insights. Lucy is the author of "The Complete Films of Vincent Price." Plus, historian Tom Weaver will add his two cents too!

12:30 PM - MOVIE: THE SCARLET CLAW (1944) Stars Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Gerald Hamer, Paul Cavanaugh and Ian Wolfe. Holmes and Watson head to a small village in Canada to investigate the murder of a woman.  Their client, the murdered woman herself who had a premonition that she would die and wrote Holmes. Her husband is none to happy that Holmes comes tromping around is a non-believer in a supernatural horror that grips the town.  The horror is a glowing monster that roams the woods at night, tearing people' throats out!  The most horror-like of the Rathbone Holmes movies and a great entry in the series.

2:00 PM - TALK: GREG MANK on MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE. Universal scored huge hits in 1931 with DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN. The studio’s next horror film was not as big a success, but may have a more intriguing back story: budgets slashed and restored, two actors in gorilla suits and a real chimpanzee, the producer’s girlfriend as leading lady, and Bela Lugosi’s only role under his only term contract in Hollywood. Make sure to see Greg after the talk to have him sign one of his books for you!

3:00 PM - DEALER BALLROOM OPENS! Get the creepy cool collectibles you want before some other Monster Kid gets them!

3:00 PM - MOVIE: MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE (1932) . The role Lugosi took instead of the monster in FRANKENSTEIN. Excellent direction from Robert Florey....creepy, twisted, adventuresome, and fun. Inventive camera angles from director Florey.

4:30 PM - TALK: FRANK DELLO STRITTO on MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE. Take Poe, add mad science, a carnival, a hero who spends his free time at the local morgue, and a pinch of German Expressionism. Frank takes us down the foreboding streets of 1845 Paris in search of hidden treasures. Vist Frank, at his table, through the Bash and get one of his many great books!

5:30 PM - Q&A: RENEE BROWNING. The daughter of the Creature From the Black Lagoon...Ricou Browning. Renee discusses her father as a stunt man, actor, director, and father! Kick back and get thrown back in a time we were all kids and songs like "Monster Mash" was on the radio and THE OUTER LIMITS was on all our TVs. Mark has put out a series of music CDs, including one that has Caroline Munro, Veronica Carlson, Martin Beswick, Suzanna Leigh, and Yvonne Monlaur called THE HAMMER GIRLS with songs written by his brother Theron Statler.

11:00 PM - MEXICAN MONSTER NIGHT: THE SHIP OF MONSTERS (1960). One of the most bizarre films around and one of the most requested for Mexi-Movie night at Bash.  Is it a science fiction film?, vampire movie?, western?, musical?, or comedy?  I'd say all of the above.  It features some of the weirdest, fun looking monsters ever.  They look like those rubber monsters you used to put on the top of pencils, over the eraser.  And, a talking cow-man skeleton monster!  In Spanish, no subtitles --- who needs 'em with this one! Free tacos handed out before the film, while supplies last.

12:30 AM - MONSTER BASH LATE SHOW: THE SKULL (1965) Stars Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Patrick Wymark and Nigel Green. A pesky skull seems to causes whover owns it the worst of luck....suicide, insanity no fun at all.  The skull is from the body of the Marquis de Sade and demonologist Peter Cushing is after it (or is it after him?!).  Scary stuff with a haunted skull.  Atmospheric and screaming fun.
