THE RED HOUSE (1947) Incredibly good little backwoods thriller. A young boy is helping a family with odd jobs after school. He and the young girl who lives there suspect a dark past with the house and her family. Edward G. Robinison is out of type as a laid back country man....and he's stunning. A stormy night and dark secrets with the kids running across field and through woods in a thunderstorm is terrific.

A dark tale of the descent into madness. Edward G. Robinson is terrific in this film directed by the master of German art cinema - Fritz Lang.
