Starring James Mason, Kirk Douglas and Peter Lorre. The classic Disney Science Fiction film based on Jules Verne's novel. A professor, his assistant and sailor end up stranded aboard a super-powered submarine headed by a violent pacifist(?)! Of course, the classic giant squid attack is a highlight. A sheer delight in every way.
The look and nautical feel of the film is still a wonder. Incredible acting by all involved. Mason is dynamite as the cerebral, distracted and powerful Captain Nemo.
