Lon Chaney Sr.'s only talkie. He died shortly after the shooting of this film. He proved, he could have been just as big in the sound era as he was in silents. The Man of a Thousand Faces showed his ability to disguise his voice too. He's a sideshow huckster that gets too deep with a couple of seedy cohorts; an evil midget and unsavory strong man. Entertaining, fun and thoughtful. Ironically, Chaney waves goodbye at the conclusion.
