Japanese horror shot in moody black and white. A twist on the vampire legends of the west. This vampire stalks under moonlight, like a werewolf. There's a weirdo hunchbacked dwarf and a cast of strange characters. It takes place in contemporary time and mixes in a mystery of a woman missing for twenty years. She's found annd seems to have not aged a day in those twenty years. One of the earliest Japanese vampire movies, possibly drawing on Hammer Studios success of HORROR OF DRACULA the year before this film. In Japanese with English subtitles.
