Japanese horror shot in moody black and white. A twist on the vampire legends of the west. This vampire talks under moonlight, like a werewolf. There's a weirdo hunchbacked dwarf and a cast of strange characters. It takes place in contemporary time and mixes in a mystery of a woman missing for twenty years that has not aged a day. The earliest Japanese vampire movies, possibly drawing on Hammer Studios success of HORROR OF DRACULA the year before this film. In Japanese with English subtitles.
