His obsession and strong feeling for this mysterious woman grow and he finds her appearances fleeting and finds himself chasing a whisper of a soul. A dramatic meeting happen during a tremendous storm on a rocky island with a lighthouse. The portrait and lighthouse seems drift into eeroe color from the rich black and white of the film. I saw this film late one night and have never forgotten its images and emotion. For anyone with a bohemian-romantic heart and a love of the supernatural --- here is your movie.
