KING OF KONG ISLAND (1968) A deranged scientist, deep in the jungle is experimenting with apes. Like in CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN, he's planting electronic control devices. In this film the control devices are zipped-up in gorillas. His plans are to make an army of mind-controlled gorillas for world domination. He has REALLY gone off the deep end here. A muscleman and gorgeous wife head into the jungle to stop him....before it's too late! Bizarre Italian production.
WHITE PONGO (1955) Stars Richard Fraser (WHITE ZOMBIE), Maris Wrixton and Lionel Royce. A safari heads to Arfica in search for the missing link...now believed to be a monsterous white gorilla (okay, I can see that). Deep in the jungle they begin to wonder if they're tracking the great gorilla, or is he after them! Low budget hokum at it's finest! And, what nasty, cool looking gorilla suits. Aooooooohhhhhhh, entertainment.
BRIDE OF THE GORILLA (1951) Raymond Burr turns into an ape (or does he?), after a voodoo woman curses him. Almost a re-write of THE WOLF MAN. Lon Chaney Jr.'s along for the ride too. He's a local law official on an island whose accent comes and goes from scene to scene. Great stuff.
